PeopleThe current executive board of the SCPT is composed of Bruce Ellis Benson, John D. Caputo, Merold Westphal, and Norman Wirzba. Bruce Ellis Benson is Associate Professor and Chair of the Philosophy Department at Wheaton College. He is the author of Graven Ideologies: Nietzsche, Derrida & Marion on Modern Idolatry and the forthcoming Pious Nietzsche: Decadence and Dionysian Faith. John D. Caputo is the Thomas J. Watson Professor of Religion and Humanities at Syracuse University. He is also David R. Cook Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Villanova University, where he taught from 1968 until 2004. He is the author of many books, including The Prayers and Tears of Jacques Derrida: Religion without Religion. Merold Westphal is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University. He has written and edited more than a dozen books, including Overcoming Onto-Theology, and is currently working on putting Levinas and Kierkegaard into conversation. Norman Wirzba is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Georgetown College, where he serves as the department chair. His most recent book is The Paradise of God: The Renewal of Religion in an Ecological Age. |
